For my Timber Rattlers last season i'd liked to have seen him at catcher as well! Journeymen Sean McCraw had a great arm but couldn't hit. Corey Kemp could hit but teams ran at will on him (and they he retired cuz they wanted him to move to 1B this year...).

Lawrie is just a kid and an impressive athlete. I think he could develop into a good second baseman. He looked natural turning a double play and has a great arm. But as i'd mentioned, I thought a lot of balls got through simply cuz he didn't have a feel for where to play, angles to take, etc.

I think with time he'll learn better D at 2B. But with that arm and being fleet of foot he could play a corner OF spot as well. But I suspect he'd have growing pains there too.

I think what the Brewers need to do is pick a position for him and stick with it so he can develop. Could he be MLB ready in 2-3 years, maybe. I suppose it depends on what their plans are for Rickie Weeks. Transition to Lawrie in 2-3 years would not be out of the question.

It'll be interesting. Have to keep in mind last year was his first year of professional ball. His bat is ahead of his glove, but I think his glove can get there.

I don't know much about Regan other than he's shorter than his brother and he's a 1B/OF type. I'm going to make a trip to Vandy to see Sonny Gray pitch and I hope Regan gets some playing time. Doesn't hurt to get a look at these guys as freshman to see how they progress.

Saw Lawrie about 40 times last season & it surprises me his fielding % was as high as it was. Great effort but a lot of bad angles & reads. Can tell it was his 1st season @ 2B. Very quick bat though.
