2012 Top 10 Third Basemen Prospects
Like the shortstops, this is a strong class of third basemen with star potential grouping within the top 3 very different prospects. Dominican teenager Miguel Sano possesses power potential that may only be rivaled at the prospect level by Bryce Harper, though he's riskier than both Anthony Rendon and Nolan Arenado. Ultimately, I placed Rendon at the top spot because i feel that his defensive prowess combined with his lightning quick wrists make him a safe bet to become an MLB regular and occasional All Star.
2012 Top 10 Shortstop Prospects
This year's shortstop prospect class is considerably strong and deeper and that of 2010 and 2011. All 10 of these guys have a shot to make my top 100 (Coming Soon). Jurickson Profar and Manny Machado are virtual locks to both appear in the top 10 on that list and run neck and neck on this positional list. In the end, I favor Profar's plate discipline (12.6 BB%, 1.03 BB/K ratio).
1. Jurickson Profar - Bats: B Throws: R - 6'0" 170 - TEX - 2.20.93. Signed: Curacao - 2009.
